Bad Day for Power Pop

November 24th is a bad day for fans of power pop, especially power pop on the internet. Not Lame is calling it quits. NotLame.com is one of the greatest places to find out about power pop and to order independent and hard to find CD's. Bruce Brodeen has been a champion of this genre and for geeks like me a serious inspiration. He help me when I had label and has helped numerous artists like Doug Powell and Rick Altizer release and sell their music. This is a niche genre in an ever changing and suffering music industry so it shouldn't come as a shock but it's definitely not a good thing. Watch the video from Bruce below. It sounds like he's going to continue to push the genre in other ways online which is the one bit of good news here... It would be tough to find a more geniune and good person than Bruce. Please watch this video...
